Over 40 United Way volunteers, representing 30 local companies or organizations, gathered Wednesday morning at the Pines Country Club to track the annual campaign progress. After all volunteers reported, United Way campaign results totaled $1,075,600 or 70% of the $1,530,000 goal for Monongalia and Preston Counties.
Mylan Pharmaceuticals reported over $350,000 raised, surpassing their goal by over $20,000.
WVU Hospitals reported over $150,000 raised and West Virginia University reported over $202,000 raised at this point.
Other companies reporting were BB&T with over $14,000 raised so far, Bowles Rice with over $13,000, HealthWorks with over $8,000, and United Bank with over $34,000.00. Many others shared successful results with the group.
The event, which was themed as a haunted celebration, served as the halfway point for the annual fundraising drive. It was sponsored by HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness. Attendees also took part in Halloween themed games to test their skill and were rewarded with giftcards for their hard work.
The final progress report is scheduled for December 16th at Noon. It will be held at Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa and is sponsored by MVB Bank.
