As fall gets underway in Monongalia and Preston Counties, the annual United Way campaign has currently raised over $1,062,600 or 69% of the $1,540,000 goal at the mid-way point of the campaign.
Mylan Pharmaceuticals has already raised over $315,000 through their workplace giving and corporate gifts.
WVU Medicine is at $160,000 so far and West Virginia University has garnered over $210,000. Twelve pacesetter companies reported jumpstarted the campaign with over $300,000 raised at kick-off.
“We are proud to be at 69% of our goal at the mid-way point,” commented Craig Behr, 2016 Campaign Chair. “If you haven’t had a chance to make your gift this year, please consider joining us.”
The campaign continues through December at 104 workplaces across Monongalia and Preston Counties. Those interested in being part of this annual campaign can do so by submitting a pledge card to their workplace campaign, giving online at http://www.unitedwaympc.org, or by texting UWAY to 41444.
The funding raised helps support 49 programs at 27 health and human service agencies in Monongalia and Preston Counties.
“I’m confident our community will once again surpass our goal,” added Behr. “But we can’t do it without you!”
The final campaign report is scheduled for December 17th at Noon. It will be held at the Erickson Alumni Center and is sponsored by HealthSouth Mountainview.
