Over 60 United Way volunteers, representing 30 local companies or organizations, gathered Wednesday morning at Terra Cafe to track the annual campaign progress. After all volunteers reported, United Way campaign results totaled $925,000 or 61% of the $1,525,000 goal for Monongalia and Preston Counties.
Mylan Pharmaceuticals reported over $294,000 raised, surpassing their goal by over $20,000. Their employees are still giving and they intend on crossing over $300,000 for the first time ever.
WVU Hospitals reported that over $125,000 has been contributed by their employees so far.
Other companies reporting were BB&T with over $10,000 raised so far, West Virginia University with over $129,000 contributed toward their goal, and United Bank with over $31,000.00.
The event, which was themed as a Breakfast of Champions, served as the halfway point for the annual fundraising drive. It was sponsored by BB&T. Attendees also took part in Olympic style games to test their skill and were rewarded with giftcards for their hard work.
The final progress report is scheduled for December 17th at Noon. It will be held at the Erickson Alumni Center and is sponsored by United Bank.
