I'd like to personally thank the more than 120 volunteers that came out to support the Monongalia and Preston County communities on Wednesday, August 1st during the United Way's annual Day of Caring.
With 22 projects of varying skill and degree of intensity, I wasn't sure that we'd be able to help all 16 nonprofit agencies, and yet it all came together!
Thanks to the local corporations who allowed their employees to take a day off to help out the community, and thanks to those volunteers who had to use vacation time to come help with the painting, mulching, powerwashing, letter-writing, and much, much more this year!
A very special thank you to WVU Healthcare for sponsoring this year's Day of Caring, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Star City for hosting our kick-off event!
I look forward to even more volunteers to make a bigger impact at next year's event!
If you are interested in volunteering in Mon or Preston Counties, send me an email or call (304) 296-7525 for more information!
