United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties celebrated a record-breaking campaign year with their final campaign report on Tuesday, December 16th at the Erickson Alumni Center. Volunteers from over 60 local companies and organizations gathered to celebrate the official end of the campaign cycle. After all volunteers reported, United Way campaign results totaled $1,560,750 or 102% of the $1,530,000 goal for Monongalia and Preston Counties.
Mylan Pharmaceuticals reported over $367,000 raised by their employees. This is their largest amount ever raised and for the second year in a row, they are the largest contributor to the overall community campaign. West Virginia University celebrated successful results having raised over $300,000 for their 32nd annual campaign. WVU Hospitals reported over $177,000 from their employees and Mon Health System reported over $54,000 raised, their largest campaign ever!
Other companies included MVB Financial with over $15,870, First Energy at $71,330, and HeathSouth Mountainview with $8,514.
The Combined Federal Campaign, which includes all federal employees in the area raised over $140,000 collectively.
“We were honored to be the first couple to serve as co-chairs, “commented Darryl and Shelly Duncan, 2015 Campaign Co-Chair. “We are fortunate to live in a caring community and they have once again stepped up and given generously to provide for others.”
The Duncans officially hands the reigns of the campaign over to Craig Behr, Vice President of Citynet, who will serve as the 2016 chair.
