Over $1,540,500 raised for annual campaign; 101% of Goal
United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties celebrated a record-breaking campaign year with their final campaign report on Tuesday, December 17th at the Erickson Alumni Center. Volunteers from over 50 local companies and organizations gathered to celebrate the official end of the campaign cycle. After all volunteers reported, United Way campaign results totaled $1,540,500 or 101% of the $1,525,000 goal for Monongalia and Preston Counties.
Mylan Pharmaceuticals reported over $322,506 raised by their employees. This is their largest amount ever raised and for the first time, they are the largest contributor to the overall community campaign. WVU Hospitals reported over $177,000 from their employees and West Virginia University concluded their 31st annual campaign with over $266,000 raised.
Other companies included Clear Mountain Bank with over $23,000, First Energy at $74,331, and HealthWorks Rehab and Fitness at $7,428.
The Combined Federal Campaign, which includes all federal employees in the area raised over $144,000 collectively.
“I was honored to serve as Chair this year, “commented Brad Greathouse, 2014 Campaign Chair. “We are fortunate to live in a caring community and they have once again stepped up and given generously to provide for others.”
Greathouse officially hands the reigns of the campaign over to Darryl Duncan, President and CEO of Mon Health System, and his wife Shelly, who will serve as the 2015 chairs.
