Advocacy in Action: Bringing a Mountain State Voice to a National Platform
Women United, an affinity group of the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, recently offered a Zoom presentation and discussion called "Advocacy in Action: Bringing a Mountain State Voice to a National Platform," featuring Amy Jo Hutchison. The was moderated by Women United's Nikki Bowman-Mills, founding publisher/editor of New South Media Inc.
Amy Jo Hutchison is a born and raised West Virginian. She began organizing in poor and marginalized communities across the state in 2017, using her lived experience of poverty to connect with people who share the same experience.

30th Annual Day of Caring
Volunteers needed for Day of Caring!
The 30th Annual Day of Caring, which will feature more than 150 volunteers helping in the community at various project sites, will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 11. Projects will be scheduled all day at more than 20 different locations in Monongalia and Preston counties.
