34th Annual Day of Caring
Each year, United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties partners with local nonprofit organizations to coordinate volunteer projects that will be completed on one special Day of Caring, which aims to bring people together to create positive change in the community.
This year, which marks the 34th year of this event, is sponsored by Burke & Herbert Bank and will feature many community volunteers working to tackle a variety of projects throughout Monongalia and Preston counties.
At 9:00 am May 13, there will be a kickoff event at Burke & Herbert Bank (176 Courtyard Street, Morgantown), where volunteers can receive breakfast, free items, enter raffles and take a group photo before heading out to the service projects. Most service projects will take place between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
This event is designed to foster service and volunteerism, and to introduce area residents to local nonprofit organizations that work each day to build a better community for all. It also allows volunteers to learn and recognize the impact United Way has on meeting the needs of the community.
