Spooky Sprint Terms and Conditions

United Way Spooky Sprint Virtual 5K Walk/Run

General Race Terms and Conditions and Waiver of Liability:

  1. Registrants taking part in the Spooky Sprint, hosted by the Emerging Leaders of the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties do so entirely at their own risk and are 100% responsible for selecting a safe route to run. Entrants should wear “hi-viz” (High-visibility clothing, sometimes known as "hi-viz", is any clothing worn that is highly luminescent in its natural matt property or a color that is easily discernible from any background. It is most commonly worn on the torso and arm area of the body.) clothing when running in low light conditions and take care around traffic or when running off road. United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties accept no responsibility for any accidents or injuries sustained whilst taking part in the Spooky Sprint virtual event.
  2. By entering the Spooky Sprint virtual event, you are accepting that United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties will contact you to confirm your entry and keep you updated on the progress of your order. Per our Privacy Policy, you have the option of being added to the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties mailing list to receive updates on future events, offers and news. You can unsubscribe from the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties mailing list at any time.
  3. After completing your virtual race, you must upload a run details photo(s) to our social media channels, to be considered for a prize. If you experience any difficulties creating or uploading a run details photo(s), please contact the United Way team.
  4. The Spooky Sprint virtual event is not a timed event. Times can be tracked and logged using personal devices but there will be no timed winner for this event.
  5. United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties will be free to use any images in which we are tagged on our social channels for any purpose.
  6. By reading and agreeing to the above terms and conditions, you are waiving United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties of any and all liability in the event that an accident or injury may occur.

To be considered for an event prize:

  • Register online by October 10, 2020 at unitedwaympc.org/spookysprint
  • Receive your race participation packet in the mail (included in packet: Spooky Sprint T-shirt, race bib, and medal)
  • Once you receive your official race packet, run/walk 3.1 miles by midnight on October 31, 2020.
  • Post pictures from your run/walk, using the hashtag #ELSPOOKYSPRINT to the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties social media pages
  • And most importantly have a great time!
