About the Event

This special event is part of Dolly Week 2025, a statewide celebration of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in West Virginia, running August 4–9. The Imagination Library mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five—right to their doorstep.

What to Expect

  • A live reading of Corduroy

  • Fun facts about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

  • An opportunity for children to share their favorite books in the comments

  • A quick guide on how to register for free monthly books

Interactive Family Activities

Make this virtual story time even more fun with these optional activities for children and families:

Bring Your Bear Photo Challenge

Have your child bring their favorite stuffed bear or plush animal to the read aloud. Take a photo and share it in the event comments with the hashtag #CorduroyAndMe.

Printable Corduroy Coloring Page

Download a Corduroy coloring sheet to print and color during or after the event.

Button Hunt Game

Create a simple button scavenger hunt at home. Hide buttons around the house and let kids search for them—just like Corduroy.

Story Time Snack

Make a bear-themed snack together, such as teddy graham trail mix or fruit “bear faces.” Share your snack creations using the hashtag #DollyWeekSnacks.
