Join United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties for Backpacks of Hope, a one-day volunteer opportunity honoring the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Together, we’ll assemble and distribute 100 backpacks filled with shelf-stable food, hygiene items, and cleaning supplies for underserved families in Monongalia and Preston counties.
Volunteers are needed for two shifts:
• Morning shift – Packing crew: Volunteers will assemble backpacks in an organized, assembly-line format.
• Afternoon shift – Distribution crew: Volunteers will help deliver backpacks to families and provide information on local resources.
This event is ideal for individuals, civic groups, student organizations, faith-based groups, and workplace volunteer teams. All skill levels and abilities are welcome.
