MORGANTOWN – As the chill of winter sets in, several organizations and individuals have come together to manage and operate a cold weather shelter. The Monongalia County warming shelter opened for the season Thursday, Dec. 1, at Hazel’s House of Hope in Morgantown.
MORGANTOWN – Friday morning began with lots of waves and plentiful cheers from staff, board members and advocates of the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties. The United Way kicked off its 2023 Campaign in style with a Honk and Wave hour for the morning commute in Morgantown and Kingwood.

After not being able to host the Corporate Cup Challenge in 2020 and 2021, we are excited to bring back one of the most anticipated events the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties has to offer! This year's Corporate Cup will be held June 10-12, 2022.
Women United, an affinity group of the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, recently offered a Zoom presentation and discussion called "Advocacy in Action: Bringing a Mountain State Voice to a National Platform," featuring Amy Jo Hutchison. The was moderated by Women United's Nikki Bowman-Mills, founding publisher/editor of New South Media Inc.
Amy Jo Hutchison is a born and raised West Virginian. She began organizing in poor and marginalized communities across the state in 2017, using her lived experience of poverty to connect with people who share the same experience.
United Way raises $1,266,711 during campaign; organization's total community impact is more than $2 million
